We have been meeting amazing people, seeing incredible country and learning lots and the technical challenges continue. We summited and descended KY's second highest peak this morning on Hwy 119 on our way between Oven Fork and Whitesburg- a 3.5 miles steap ascent and a 4 mile decent. We had the extra challenge of not being able to get into our lowest gears. However, we
made it and at the summit we visited with an amazing man who lives in a log cabin there (more about that later). On the descent we got a flat tire, which Jim repaired, but the wheel was wobbling. We are in need of a bike shop, there is one 35 miles away, but they have closed for the weekend. I have popped into the library while Jim is working with a local biker and his bike repair book to see what they can do to get our bike in riding condition.
